About Floyd Arthur


Floyd Arthur attended middle school and high school in Brooklyn, New York. Then he received his degree from Syracuse University. Arthur was a board member of 100 Black Men of Long Island Development Group. While he was attending Syracuse he was initiated into the Kappa Alpha Fraternity.

Floyd Arthur is currently employed as an Executive Consultant as a contractor hired working with the insurance brokerage firm Carmoon Group, Ltd. He has extensive experience in business insurance underwriting, business risk management services, and surety bonding.



In the past, he has spent quite a number of years serving other very respectable representatives of firms such as Grandbay Brokerage, Iotha Enterprise, and Andrew & Arthur. He worked his way up from being a Casualty Underwriting Trainee and then from there moved on to casualty, large lines, and international underwriting work.

He served many clients from the early 1980s on while working for following companies: American Foreign Insurance Assurance, Union Indemnity Insurance Company, American International Group, Union Indemnity Insurance Company, and the Commerce & Industry Insurance Company. He has handled a wide range of responsibilities for these employers as well as the customers he served.

Arthur has made quite a name for himself in the insurance industry from the time he first received his training until now. He is well-respected by his clients and he has become known within his circle of colleagues in the New York area. Many people have come to him for advice on how to protect their assets and they turn to him for information about insurance products.

Support Your Local Minority Owned Bussiness

There are a lot of ways to support your businesses and help them to grow and mature in ways that are good for the communities, this way these businesses can connect with there communities and give out more jobs to the workers that need them. That way it will work out for the both of them together, with also other ways for these minority companies to help with there focus groups and through there workers. Also with other outside companies that may want to get involved. Through these focus groups you guys can work together and figure out where you need to go.

You can also assist your minority owned businesses through the government, this way you know that there are a lot of different opportunities and programs that you can find out, which ones that can help you and your neighborhood. There are a lot of different programs where you can apply for government grants where you have a chance to make some money that you will not have to pay back. That sounds like a really good deal, and a lot of Americans are taking advantage of these grants that are available to you. Also with more programs that you may be able to take advantage of.

So the minority need grants to start up there businesses and this is the reason that a lot of them get help from the government. These companies need all the help that they can get because they are the few and there are many out there also. Therefor these companies are the centerpieces all over the nation and they need to be there so there neighborhood is aware and the problems are addressed. And these programs come to the front and you can apply and maybe get a chance at one of the government grants out there.

An Insurance underwriter like Floyd Arthur has the job of determining the risks involved on a person's life insurance application. Life Insurance underwriters work by evaluating many factors in a person's life, and determines when a person may die. An underwriter takes the information on a life insurance application and uses special computer programs that factor all of the risks in an applicants life. The underwriter then uses this information to determine premium rates on insurance polices.

Some of the factors an underwriter looks at is a person's age. A sixty year old man will pay higher premiums than a thirty year old man. Another area an underwriter will take a closer look is a person's overall heath. The underwriter will evaluate any chronic conditions that afflicts an applicant. They will also want to know if a person is a smoker. Any alcohol or drug use will be considered as well. An underwriter will also factor in any dangerous hobbies that involve an applicant. A person who is engaged in scuba diving activities will be a higher insurance risk than a person who collects coins as a hobby.

A person like Mr. Arthur who wants to break into the underwriting field typically has a four year degree. Insurance companies like to hire people who have degrees in finance, math, etc. A person beginning in this field are considered trainees, and are supervised by a senior underwriter. The job outlook in this field is excellent. I person entering this field generally experiences job stability that is above average.
